The Highlander's Runaway Bride is about a woman named Eva McKay who ends up arranged to marry highlander Rob Mackintosh. Desperate to not marry, Eva runs away only to be found by Rob himself. As the two come to accept that they are to be married, Eva can't help but think of the one thing she is leaving behind with every step she takes. Sometimes secrets don't stay buried.
I swear I could not put this novel down for one minute. I adored all the characters in The Highlander's Runaway Bride and the strength they seemed to emanate throughout the whole novel. Eva had to be one of the strongest characters in the novel. She stood up and did what she had to do in order to ensure that her daughter would be protected and survive. By chapter one I was in tears thinking how heartbreaking it must be to be separated from one's child. However, throughout it all Eva did not let this ultimately effect her relationship with her new family.
Rob Mackintosh was so patient and heartbreakingly kind. He tried to protect Eva even when he didn't know what she was hiding. He was at times suspicious but he did not let that effect how he treated Eva. Throughout the novel Rob did everything he could for Eva and tried to make her life better in any way possible.
The ending left me speechless and made me fall for these characters even more. I definitely recommend this novel to everyone who loves historical, romance, and amazing men that will love you till the very end.
