The Bad Boy's Guilt by: Sara Daniel

The Bad Boy's Guilt is book two in The Bad Boys of Regret Hollow series.

The Bad Boy's Guilty is about Nicole and Wyatt. Nicole's car unexpectedly breaks down on her way to return to her hometown for her brother's wedding. The cop that comes to her rescue is Wyatt Truman, the guy that slept with her then dumped her in her teens to get revenge on her brother. Nicole has no choice but to accept his help but she knows betters than to trust him, especially with her heart, twice.

Wyatt is determined to gain Nicole's forgiveness and make amends. However, when he lays eyes on her, he can't help but want ore than forgiveness. In fact, his intentions are starting to resemble the forever variety.

If she can't avoid Wyatt, a one night stand might just be the thing Nicole needs to work him out of her system. Or will her supposed recovering plan destroy her heart once and for all?

Okay, I didn't read the first novel in the series but I didn't mind starting from here. I did notice right away that there wasn't necessarily a build up towards Nicole and Wyatt's relationship, it was just there. I didn't feel any chemistry between the two characters and I just found it so unrealistic that within two days these two characters (that have not met in 15 years) just ended up being together.

The blurb and cover is what drew me towards this novel but in the end this novel (and series) is just not for me. It fell flat and was, to me, missing a lot of important parts (i.e. what have they been up to since they last saw each other? ).

Summary from Goodreads:
Nicole trusted Wyatt with her heart once. She won’t make the same mistake twice.

A broken-down car destroys Nicole DeMonde’s plan to be cool and self-sufficient when she returns to her hometown for her brother’s wedding. The cop who comes to her rescue is none other than local hottie Wyatt Truman, who slept with her then dumped her when they were teens. She has no choice but to accept his help. However, she knows better than to trust him with her heart twice.

Wyatt is determined to earn Nicole’s forgiveness and make amends for his callous past. Once he lays eyes on her, he can’t help wanting more than forgiveness. In fact, his intentions are starting to bear a suspicious resemblance to the forever variety.

If she can’t avoid Wyatt, a one-night stand might be just the thing Nicole needs to work him out of her system. Or will her recovery plan destroy her heart once and for all?

Rebel of the Sands by: Alwyn Hamilton

Rebel of the Sands was the first book in the Rebel of the Sands series.

Rebel of the Sands is a historical, YA, fantasy novel that will truly leave you in awe. The novel begins with Amani Al'Hiza disguised as a boy, ready to take part in a shooting competition to run away from Dustwalk and her uncle...who wants to marry her. In order to leave town, Amani needs to win the competition and the money.

It is there at the competition where Amani meets mysterious and handsome Jin, a foreigner. Amani soon finds herself a part of the uprising against Sultan and his forces. She never would have predicted any of this when she imaged leaving home, especially falling in love with Jin or the fact that he'd help her unlock the truth of who she truly she.

"Being born doesn't make a single soul important. But you were important when I met you, that girl who dressed as a boy, who taught herself to shoot true, who dreamed and saved and wanted so badly. That girl was someone who had made herself matter. She was someone I liked. What the hell has happened since you came here that she is so worthless to you?"

Let's start with the fact that Rebel of the Sands is Alwyn Hamilton's debut novel. That's right, this masterpiece is only the first novel (in a series). Which is astonishing considering how well paced and well written it is. The characters were drawn so beautifully and carried the novel so well, especially Amani. She was such a delightful character to read; she was strong but also naive about everything outside of her dead end town. And the romance, don't even get me started! The chemistry between both Amani and Jin was so electrically charged. Plus the action within the novel left me breathless, wanting to read more (desert battles, mythical sand horses, train heist, ext.).

"You know, I never believed in fate until I met you... then I started thinking coincidence didn't have near so cruel a sense of humour"

The writing was well written, the characters were well developed, and everyone was just so much more. In the end, this novel had a western take with an arabic inspired setting. If you haven't picked this novel up yet, be sure to do so today. Summary from Goodreads:
She’s more gunpowder than girl—and the fate of the desert lies in her hands.

Mortals rule the desert nation of Miraji, but mystical beasts still roam the wild and barren wastes, and rumor has it that somewhere, djinni still practice their magic. But there's nothing mystical or magical about Dustwalk, the dead-end town that Amani can't wait to escape from.

Destined to wind up "wed or dead," Amani’s counting on her sharpshooting skills to get her out of Dustwalk. When she meets Jin, a mysterious and devastatingly handsome foreigner, in a shooting contest, she figures he’s the perfect escape route. But in all her years spent dreaming of leaving home, she never imagined she'd gallop away on a mythical horse, fleeing the murderous Sultan's army, with a fugitive who's wanted for treason. And she'd never have predicted she'd fall in love with him...or that he'd help her unlock the powerful truth of who she really is.

About The Author:
Alwyn Hamilton was born in Toronto and spent her childhood bouncing between Europe and Canada until her parents settled in France. She grew up in a small town there, which might have compelled her to burst randomly into the opening song from Beauty and the Beast were it not for her total tone-deafness. She instead attempted to read and write her way to new places and developed a weakness for fantasy and cross-dressing heroines. She left France for Cambridge University to study History of Art at King's College, and then to London where she became indentured to an auction house. She has a bad habit of acquiring more hardcovers than is smart for someone who moves house quiet so often.

Don’t miss today’s Excerpt Tour for Love Me Never (Lovely Vicious, #1) by Sara Wolf, which releases on Tuesday, April 5, 2016!

EntTeen-LovelyVicious-webbanner-ad1-STATIC(851x315)“That’s n-not what I meant—” Kayla starts. “And you seem exactly like the type of girl to stay with friends she hates. They probably hate you, too. It must be easy, hiding it behind all that booze and all those name brands.” Kayla’s tears overflow onto her cheeks. Jack sighs. “You’re so spineless you collapse into tears the second anyone says the truth?” My heart’s thumping in my chest. My fists squeeze so tight I can’t feel my fingers. His cruelty leaves a bitter taste in my mouth—it’s a lot like someone I used to know. Someone who ruined my life forever. I shove aside the red-faced boy who tries to hit on me again and launch myself through the crowd. Kayla isn’t my friend. No one here is. But she’s been four seconds of nice to me—true nice, not Avery’s sugary poison of inviting-me-to-this-weird-test-party nice. And four seconds is more than I ever thought I’d get. It’s the most I’ve had in a long time. Jack’s lip quirks up in a sneer. Say it. Say one more thing, pretty boy. I dare you to. “You’re pathetic,” he says. That’s the first time I punch Jack Hunter’s face. And as my knuckles connect with his stupid high cheekbones and he staggers back with a furious blizzard brewing in his icy eyes, I somehow get the feeling it won’t be the last.

Tell the Wind and Fire by: Sarah Rees Brennan

Tell the Wind and Fire is a standalone YA fantasy novel.

Tell the Wind and Fire is basically like a retelling of A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens. This is the best way to describe the novel without spoiling anything.

I am severely disappointed by this novel, not quiet sure if it is due to the fact that I had such high expectations (thanks to the summary) or because it just seemed like an amazing novel to read. But when I started reading it, I would often find myself drifting (not reading the novel and staring into space). I am going to come out and just say it...it was boring. I felt no drive whatsoever to read the novel, let alone finish it, but I continued on because I felt like maybe this novel would have a sudden twist or turn or something to make me feel like it was becoming the novel that I so wished it was.

Don't get me wrong, Sarah Rees Brennan was the best thing about Tell the Wind and Fire. It was what kept me reading when I felt like saying "screw it, screw it all". Sarah Rees Brennan's writing is also the reason why I am giving this novel a two star rating, I would have given it a one star. Besides that, there was nothing that would have kept me continuing the novel.

Imperfect Love by: Isabella White

Imperfect Love is the first book in the 4ever Series.

Imperfect Love is revolves around Holly Scallanger, a 24 year old with everything a girl could want...that is until she catches her fiancé in bed with her worst nightmare - Fonna Sinclair - a week before her wedding. Attempting to recover from everything, Holly swears off men, which is pretty hard since meeting Jake 'Hooligan' Peters is not a part of her plan. Jake Peters, a med student, sweeps Holly off her feet - and away from her past - and shows her bright future. That is until she ends up pregnant with Jake's baby just as he is beginning his internship at P&E, his family's hospital.

Will this love be the happily-ever-after she has always craved? Or, will her heart be betrayed all over again?

I really don't know what to say without spoiling the novel but I will try. The story starts with Holly, the heroine of the novel, finding out her fiancé was cheating on her again. Instead of falling for his apologies and promises, like she did before, she broke things off with him. After packing all her things, she stays with her best friend Bernie. After Holly had some time to mourn her relationship, Bernie and her husband, Leo, decide to take Holly camping with them. It is ultimately there that Holly will meet Jake. Tall, sexy, green eyed Jake. They instantly become attracted to one another and know they will be seeing more of each other before the night is over.

The novel seemed to sweet and romantic, and Jake was like every girl's dream of the perfect boyfriend. The humour within the novel made it even more of a light and airy read. But then out of nowhere this book ripped me apart. The last 30% of the book left me crying and despising the fact that this perfectly amazing novel had left me like this. Despite the anger and sadness, I pushed on. There is no cliffhanger but this novel will make you want to know what is going to happen to the characters from this novel. Seriously I can not wait to pick up the sequel.

I recommend this novel to you all. Seriously pick it up and read it today.

Summary from Goodreads:
At 24 years old, Holly Scallanger has the perfect life. Everything a girl could want; a beautiful man, a stunning home, as well as being in the midst of preparing for the wedding of her dreams. This all vanishes the night she catches her fiancé, Brandon Morgan, in bed with her worst nightmare, Donna Sinclair, just a week before Holly is set to walk down the aisle.

Attempting to recover from his betrayal, Holly swears off the affections of men in order to pick up the pieces of her crumbling life. Unfortunately, meeting Jake 'Hooligan' Peters is not part of her plan. The tall, dark-haired and handsome as hell med student, sweeps Holly away from the pain of her past and reveals to her the bright future that lays ahead. That is, until she falls pregnant just as Jake begins his internship at P&E; his family's hospital.

Will this love at first sight lead her to the fairytale she has always craved? Or, will she fall victim to a betrayal of the heart yet again?
