When Marine Force Recon captain Cullen Loughman learns that his father’s been kidnapped, he will do whatever it takes to find him. In order to achieve his mission, Cullen will need to team up with the best of the best—someone who just happens to be the most stunning woman he’s ever laid eyes on…

This isn’t the first rodeo for ex—Air Force pilot Mia Carter. Still, Cullen’s bad-boy good looks and charm are distracting her from duty. . .and it appears that the feeling is mutual. As Mia and Cullen make their descent into a dark, dangerous world, their attraction reaches the boiling point. But is their desire worth the risk when a ruthless enemy is waiting in the wings—or will their Lone Star love conquer all?

The Protector is the second book in the Sons of Texas series. It begins where book one, The Hero, ends.

In this book, Cullen Loughman learns about his father's kidnapping and is willing to do whatever it takes in order to save him. In order to achieve this mission, he will need the help of ex-Air Force pilot Mia Carter. Cullen's looks and charm are distracting Mia and it seems like the feeling is mutual. As Mia and Cullen descend into a dangerous world, their attraction begins to get hotter. But is their desire worth the risk when a enemy is waiting in the wings?

The Protector is filled with action, suspense, mystery, romance, and an abundance of bad guys. The moment Mia and Cullen meet, they are instantly attracted to each other and feel some chemistry between them. They manage to find time between the danger lurking, to act on their mutual attraction and are surprised by how right it feels for them to be together.

In the end, this book was well written and highly entertaining to read. I am definitely excited to read book three and see how all of this will tie up in the end.

This book can be read as a standalone but I highly suggest reading the first book before diving into this one.
