He has no voice, or name, only a rank, Eighth. He doesn’t know the details of the mission, only the directives that hum in his mind.

Dart the humans. Leave them where they fall.

His job is to protect his Offside. Let her do the shooting.

Until a human kills her…

Sixteen year-old Raven is at summer camp when the terrifying armored Nahx invade, annihilating entire cities, taking control of the Earth. Isolated in the wilderness, Raven and her friends have only a fragment of instruction from the human resistance.

Shelter in place.

Which seems like good advice at first. Stay put. Await rescue. Raven doesn’t like feeling helpless but what choice does she have?

Then a Nahx kills her boyfriend.

Thrown together in a violent, unfamiliar world, Eighth and Raven should feel only hate and fear. But when Raven is injured, and Eighth deserts his unit, their survival comes to depend on trusting each other…

Genres: Young Adult, Fantasy, Romance, Adventure, Action
Pages: 699
Series: A Court of Thorns and Roses - Book Three
Format: Hardcover - Indigo Exclusive Edition

Summary from Goodreads:
"A line that should never be crossed is about to be breached.

It puts this entire castle in jeopardy—and the life of your friend."

From the throne of glass rules a king with a fist of iron and a soul as black as pitch. Assassin Celaena Sardothien won a brutal contest to become his Champion. Yet Celaena is far from loyal to the crown. She hides her secret vigilantly; she knows that the man she serves is bent on evil.

Keeping up the deadly charade becomes increasingly difficult when Celaena realizes she is not the only one seeking justice. As she tries to untangle the mysteries buried deep within the glass castle, her closest relationships suffer. It seems no one is above questioning her allegiances—not the Crown Prince Dorian; not Chaol, the Captain of the Guard; not even her best friend, Nehemia, a foreign princess with a rebel heart.

Then one terrible night, the secrets they have all been keeping lead to an unspeakable tragedy. As Celaena's world shatters, she will be forced to give up the very thing most precious to her and decide once and for all where her true loyalties lie... and whom she is ultimately willing to fight for.

Where do I even begin?

A Court of Wings and Ruin begins where A Court of Mist and Fury ended, with Feyre returning back to the Spring Court determined to gather information on Tamlin's alliance with Hypbern and get revenge on everything has has done. However, in order to do so, she must play a vicious and deadly game of power, deceit, and control. One minor slip may not only mean life or death for Feyre but also for her court, her people, and her world. As life around them begins to change and war bears down on every side, Feyre must decide who to trust and must face life altering decisions that will not only affect herself but everyone she holds dear. One thing is certain though, the land will be painted red with blood and the wind will carry the ashes of the dead as the armies struggle for power over one thing that can not only destroy them all but destroy their world as they know it.

A Court of Thorns and Roses was such an amazing series to read. Everything from the romance, fantasy, action, and adventure, in the series left me feeling breathless and just overall amazed. The world building and creation of such a variety of characters and courts left me in awe. It felt as if I was transported into the ACOTAR world and was there watching as all the characters evolve over the course of the series. Maas did a wonderful job of bringing everything full circle in the end.

However, I have to be honest, this book was as moving or as profound as book two, A Court of Mist and Fury (which is my favourite of the series). There wasn't much romance or action until the end of the book was drawing near. At times I found it to be rather dull and uninteresting. But I am definitely glad that I continued reading because the second half of the book was absolutely amazing.

While I am sad to see Feyre and Rhysand's story come to an end, I am definitely excited to read the spin-offs of this series. So many characters were introduced in the ACOTAR series that I can not possibly part with, so I hope at least some of them get to have their story told. I can not wait to know who's story will be told next.

Overall, this was a delightfully emotional series. I highly recommend you pick this series up if you haven't already.

About The Author:
Sarah J. Maas is the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of the Throne of Glass series (Queen of Shadows, Book 4, will be out in September 2015), as well as the A Court of Thorns and Roses series (out 5/5/15).

Sarah lives in Bucks County, PA, and over the years, she has developed an unhealthy appreciation for Disney movies and bad pop music. She adores fairy tales and ballet, drinks too much tea, and watches an ungodly amount of TV. When she's not busy writing, she can be found exploring the historic and beautiful Pennsylvania countryside with her husband and canine companion.
